History
Alluding to the history of Lovina, certainly can not be separated with the figure of Anak Agung Panji Tisna. Panji Tisna’s name is often written by Pandji Tisna. Around the 1950s, Anak Agung Panji Tisna, had traveled to several countries in Europe and Asia. What caught his attention especially was the life of people in India. He stayed for a few weeks in Bombay. The way of life and the condition of the people there, and immediately affect the way he thought and his insight forward for Bali, especially the development of community welfare in Buleleng regency.
Meanwhile, Panji Tisna also saw a beautifully laid out place for people on vacation at the beach. The land has in common with his property in Tukad Cebol Beach, Buleleng which is also located between two streams. Inspiration Panji Tisna appears to build a resting like that.
You who want to float to Lovina Beach, then for its own location, is in North Bali. Different holiday atmosphere, it will seem felt in this area of North Bali, which started pioneered in the village of Kaliasem and extends to the Village Kalibukbuk, Buleleng, Bali. Where for the nuances of natural scenery is still beautiful and still quiet. Unlike the already crowded beaches around Kuta area.
Returning from abroad in 1953, Anak Agung Panji Tisna immediately expressed his inspiration and began to build on his property, a hut named “Lovina”. The place is meant for the “travelers”, the term is now “tourist”, for a vacation. Equipped with 3 bedrooms for overnight stay and a small restaurant near the seafront.
At that time, some business watchers feared that Panji Tisna’s plan would not work as expected. It is too early to make such a business on a deserted beach like the Tukad Cebol beach. Local cultural observers say, “Lovina” is a foreign word, not a Balinese language. Furthermore, there is no letter “v” in Balinese script. Other comments say firmly, do not use the word “Lovina”, should be removed only.
In 1959, Anak Agung Panji Tisna transferred Lovina Inn to his younger cousin, Anak Agung Ngurah Sentanu who was then 22 years old believed to continue his pioneering business. The Lovina Cottages business continues. But not many travelers or tourists to Lovina. Only a few friends of Panji Tisna came. They are from America and Europe, as well as local government officials and entrepreneurs for a vacation. Feel lucky too, because on special days like Sundays and holidays, also on holidays like Galungan and Kuningan many people including students who come to enjoy the natural atmosphere of the beach.
.But in December 1960 the city of Singaraja as the capital of the province of Bali switch to the city of Denpasar. Economy in Singaraja Buleleng slumped.Tourism development in Bali has grown rapidly since 1980, prompting the government to form tourist areas, such as “Kuta” and “Sanur” Tourism Areas. At that time in the district of Buleleng, formed two Tourism Areas namely Tourism Area “Kalibukbuk” and Tourism Area “Air Sanih”. Then there is the direction of the Governor of Bali, so that the name Lovina not developed anymore, because the name was not known in Bali. Better to be developed tourism rooted Balinese culture. Therefore, the entrepreneurs for the next to use Balinese cultural names such as examples that already exist Manggala, Krisna, Angsoka, Nirvana, Lila Cita, Banyualit, Kalibukbuk, Aditya, Ayodia, and others. While Anak Agung Panji Tisna himself at that time in 1974 has built a hotel with the name “Tasik Madu”, located 100 meters to the west of the location “Lovina”, But unfortunately Hotel Tasikmadu totally damaged hit “Seritit Earthquake” in 1976. While the business by name “Lovina” should not be presented. The name “Lovina” is kept by its owner, Anak Agung Ngurah Sentanu. In 1980 “Pondok Lovina” was renovated. However, considering the direction of the Governor, the name “Lovina” was not used. Next use the alias name is: “Pondok Wisata Permata” or ” Permata Cottages”
Although the name “Lovina” is not raised, the name “Lovina” has been widely known for tourism as a destination in North Bali. Requests from businessmen and travel agents also demanded that “Lovina” be presented again. Attempts to lift North Bali as a tourist destination include returning by popularizing “Lovina”. Therefore the name Lovina Pondok “which has changed its name” Permata Cottages “, now re-use the original name” Lovina “which until now named” Lovina Beach Hotel “.
Since then the name “Lovina” has been used by no less than 6 beaches of the original villages. The rows of beaches are located in 2 (two) adjacent subdistrict areas, namely Buleleng and Banjar Subdistricts. In Buleleng District, Binaria Beach in Kalibukbuk Village, Banyualit Beach in Banyualit Village, Kubu Gembong Beach in Anturan Village / Tukadmungga, Hepi Panta in Tukadmungga Village, Penimbang Beach in Pemaron Village. While in the District of Banjar, is Tebad Cebol Beach in Kampung Baru (Kaliasem), Temukus beach in Temukus village. All the beaches are joined in the use of the name “Lovina Beach Tourist Area”. Meanwhile, the name of the official area is “Kalibukbuk Tourism Area”.
Meaning of Lovina
“Love” and “Ina” by society are defined as “Love Indonesia”, Such notions do not fit in the context of Panji Tisna. IIstilah “INA” is generally known as an abbreviation for the contingent or entourage of Indonesian athletes for the “Asian Games 1963”. Meanwhile, “Lovina” was founded in 1953. According to Panji Tisna, “Lovina” has a philosophical meaning, a mixture of two syllables “Love” and “Ina”.
